2011 Season
In only their second year the Gold Coast Knights Womens team has transformed themselves from cellar dwellers to Grand Finalists under the watchful eye of Anthony Puljic who took out the Gold Coast Soccer federations "Womens Coach of the Year, 2011".
The women also did us very proud in this years 37th Croatian Soccer Tournament in Sydney. Narrowly losing 1:0 to Canberra FC who eventually won the tournament.
Great Effort Girls!!!!!
16.05.2011 Kingscliffe 0 : GC Knights 3
Another great win by the girls on Monday night when we travelled down to a chilly Kingscliffe...Beanies were a must!! Our first goal was scored by "newly-engaged" Liz Humbert. Congratulations on your goal AND your engagement. This goal was celebrated by the team humming the wedding march. Our second AND third goals were scored by Kristina Marie Dimovski- "Dimi". And my hat goes off to all the girls for putting in a fantastic effort which reflects in the final score of 3-0. AND.... Play of the match goes to Adriana Rados, who just happened to find a $2 coin on the field while she was running... In her words.."best game EVVERRRRR". !! - WINNING !!!! ;)
18.04.2011 GC Knights 1 d Cunungra 0
With a game against the top of the ladder team, and rain pouring on the Gold Coast all day, we were all wondering whether or not the clash would go ahead. With confirmation the game was still on, we all headed up to Canungra expecting to play in the rain once again. But all we found was a chill in the air and the smell of burning firewood from chimneys.
Once again our girls dominated the entire first half and we went into half-time at nil all. Then, 5 minutes into the second half, with some beautiful passing form the entire team and sheer hunger to score, Adriana Rados did a beautiful chip over the keeper to put the ball into the back of the net. There were many chances of scoring more but were all denied by some great work by the Canungra defence and keeper.
The girls definitely DID deserve this win. Congratulations to you all......
There is no game next Monday due to Easter but we'll be back at home on TUESDAY 3rd May (coz Monday is public holiday) against Southport. Come down and show your support.
11.04.11 Musgrave 2 d GC Knights 0
Our ladies started the game in fine form against what looked like a well structured Musgrave team. The home team was well disciplined and tried valiantly to break down the Knights defence. Fortunately, for some great defending from Maria Ruzic, Jess Smit & Katarina Volarevic the Mustangs couldn’t find their way to goal
What was impressive from our girls that they constantly turned defence into attack and look dangerous at the other end but the Musgrave keeper well poised to keep our girls at bay.
Christina Dimovski looked lively as usual and didn’t have luck on her side in getting the ball into the back of the net.
Finally, the rain and only one sub got the better of our girls and conceding to late goals. Especially the second goal which would not of looked out of place in the Premier League.
Coach Anthony Puljich has got the girls playing smart football which should see them to be a very tough team to play against for the rest of the season.
Well done Ladies, we know you will do us proud this year.

Well the girls have certainly started their 2011 campaign in good fashion and have improved greatly since last year and are enjoying the winning feeling. Coach Anthony Puljich has been instrumental in getting the girls playing with confidence and working hard for one another. If early season form is some indication of where the team is at then the girls look like they could be in for a very fine saeson.
Keep up the great work girls!!!
